Thrifty Thursday-Burro Table

Happy Thursday y'all! Once again we are linking up with the wonderful Lady Cordelia to show off all our thrifty finds! This is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week! I love seeing what everyone else is finding and repurposing!

My mom, sister and I have a love for burros, I will own two little females one day. They will be sweet and gentle and nuzzle me when I go to feed our chickens. Yep, you can hold me to that! In all fairness though it's my mom who truly adores them. When she saw this dumpster dive find I think she was more excited than I was and that is saying a lot. A few days ago I told her that I was going to write a post about this table and she sent me the most awesome links to all things burro. I deleted the emails... So after you read this post check the comment section because I'm going to ask her to leave the links there for y'all. By the end of the day I bet you'll want a burro too!
Bill picked this little table up on his way to work a few months ago. It had been sitting on the curb in the cold, wet rain. His plan was to cut it up and use the top boards for another project. But when he pulled it out of the car, he knew he had already lost that argument. I was jumping up and down with happiness! Look at those cute little burros. Yes, I know it's just two sawhorses with some wood on top, but to me it's perfection!
It has it's own special corner on our front porch and was the inspiration for last week's Thrifty Thursday post with the chair revamp. Don't they look cute together?
Two watering cans for my two little helpers sit underneath the table. And on top are my favorite flowers, I had the same type in CA for 3 years and from what I'm told they are still alive and well. Can anyone tell me what they are? I've already forgotten the name, such a hardy plant.
See where I put the cable reel from last T.T? I cant believe that last week I didn't stop and remember our deck chairs sitting in the back yard! I pulled two out onto the front porch and put the reel between them as a side table. This past week Bill was in North Carolina and stopped at an incredible salvage yard. You'll see that post next week. Anyways, he found the perfect legs for the reel so that it will be raised up to a better hight, just need my man to get home! Thanks for jogging my memory with your comments :)

So there you have it! My Thrifty Thursday post, dumpster dive style! Besides adding the legs to the reel our little front porch is just what I had hoped for. If you ever stop by we can sit out here, watch the kids play in the yard, we'll sip ice tea and you can help me name my burros :)

Dont forget the April Giveaway is still open!

  1. Burros, Burros, Burros! Love these sweet creatures. Ko's grandpa used to ride wild ones to school near a mine in Ruby Arizona. Here are 3 links. One on what's going on in Texas, another is an awesome Donkey Rescue in Oregon and the other is on adorable miniature donkeys. Your'e gonna want one after seeing these--beware!
