Ric-Rac Blossom Ring Tutorial

Here's a quick and fun tutorial for you! I love these cocktail rings, they are so flirty and perfect for spring. Yep they are for sale in my Etsy shop (check out the link on the right), but lots of people are making them so I thought why not show you how I did it :) I'm nice like that!

All you need is a pack of medium ric-rac, yes I know I spell it differently, a hot glue gun, scissors, a ring base (I purchase mine from MKbeads.com),  and a piece of felt (not pictured).

The boys are showing you that this craft only takes a little bit of time ;) about 20 minutes max! They kept me company while playing with legos and having imaginary robot fights!

Cut 2 pieces of ric-rac, each 12 inches long.

Pin them together and start "braiding" the two pieces together.

As you braid the pieces together it might get a bit wavy. Don't worry about it, just tug on both ends as if your trying to stretch it out.

When you get to the end, pull out the pin and hot glue the two ends together.

Start rolling the braid up on itself, adding a little hot glue as you go. One side will look better than the other, once you see which side it is just focus on rolling the ric-rac in that same way.

Once it's all rolled up, flip it to the back side and add a dab of hot glue to the center and press the loose ends into it.

Next, start unfolding the blossom, I like the way 2 layers look unfolded but it's totally up to you. Once you like the way it looks, hot glue the felt on to the back of the blossom, and then add a bit of hot glue to the ring base and press your flower onto it. It's that easy! I guess you now know why I have a ton of them in the Etsy shop plus they are a tad addicting to make!

And of course, if you don't want to make one by all means do a little shopping!
